We don't even want to imagine how many times you've shopped on Amazon, yes, the largest ecommerce on the planet.

And nothing compares to the feeling of being in the comfort of your home, entering the web and adding things to the cart without taking a finger off the screen of your cell phone or computer keyboard.

We love online shopping! But you know what we also love? Selling on Amazon, generating income of several zeros to the right and being able to work from anywhere in the world.

Paris, the Bahamas, Spain, Acapulco, Puerto Rico, Canada...

You can have your own business thanks to amazon and take advantage of the support of one of the most valuable brands in the world.

It doesn't matter if you already have your digital store or you are an entrepreneur who wants to increase your income. With just a computer and an internet connection you will be one click away from selling a product to any continent.

Want to know more? Let's see:

Why should I sell on Amazon?

At the school we believe that selling on Amazon is an excellent business opportunity and we'll tell you why.

We're talking about a company that has been around for more than 20 years and has gone through a lot of ups and downs during this time, which has led it to be worth more than 300 billion dollars.

Have you heard the name of companies like Walmart, Sears and Target? Well, Amazon is bigger than those three companies combined, so it's an emporium that is at your disposal at all times.

We tell you this because more than 50% of the products sold by the corporation are not manufactured in-house, but by third parties, so now you have the possibility to increase your income without dealing with all the logistics that an ecommerce requires.

Amazon ships more than 1.6 million packages a day in its largest market alone, and several of them could be yours. Customers will increase their purchase intent if they see that you are allied with this ecommerce giant, so don't leave it for later.

Steps to sell on Amazon from scratch

If you're already convinced to sell on Amazon but don't know how to do it, don't worry. We have prepared for you a detailed guide with all the steps you need to follow to use the platform.

1. Choose the right product

You can't sell something if you don't know exactly what the product will be, so this will be your first task. Choosing the right product is something that takes time because you will have to study the niche and the needs of your customers.

Amazon offers hundreds of sectors and your job is to review each one to see how competitive they are.

Once you see a niche you like, select the "Best Sellers" option to make sure the item has an outlet in the market. You can also use specialized tools to find out the exact demand for that product.

After you choose it you can continue with the process.

2. Create your account

No, we're not talking about an Amazon account. We are talking about the Seller Central platform.

It's very simple, you just have to add your nation where you live, type of company, credit card information, phone numbers, bank account and personal information.

Then you will have to choose between the following alternatives:

  • Individual Seller

  • Professional seller

Don't worry about which one to choose. If you are just starting out you can choose Individual Seller and once you advance in the process you will be able to change your account to a professional one.

However, keep in mind that the prices are different. With the individual plan you will pay 0.99 USD each time you make a sale, while the professional plan costs 39.99 USD per month regardless of the number of products you sell.

3. Product listing

It's time to add the list of products you will offer in the digital store.

Go to the "Inventory" section and choose "Add a product" and add the items you have selected, either through the barcode or through its search engine.

Did you manufacture your own product? No problem, the site allows you to sell your own goods by clicking on "Create product".

4. Quality images

We can't find words to explain the importance of images when it comes to selling a product. The digital world eliminates many experiences, but the visual part takes a greater relevance in this type of environment.

Take enough time to take the right pictures. Make sure it's on a white background and that the product looks clean at all times.

Don't forget to capture all the angles of the item so that the user has less doubts when buying. The more confident they are, the more likely they are to buy it.

5. Price

The next step in the list is to add the price. This is a delicate issue that you should study carefully.

Think for a moment: if the price is too cheap you will have little or no profit, but if it's too high your customers will not buy it.

Quite a dilemma, isn't it? Try to find a neutral point where your profits are enough to cover the costs and users can buy them.

In the same Seller Central platform you will configure the price of the product. In addition, you will be able to readjust the price in an automated way and you will have the ability to set batch pricing for Amazon Business clients.

6. Ship the merchandise

This is one of the things we like best about Amazon. When you make a sale, the system sends you an email with all the user data.

You decide: you send it or leave it in the hands of Amazon's logistics service, who will dispatch the item in record time no matter where your customer is located.

Don't forget to send some stock to the company's warehouses so they can ship it once you approve it.

7. Payment

The most awaited moment has arrived: receiving your income.

One of the great things about Amazon is that they take care of receiving the money from your customers and then share the part that corresponds to you, which means that you can forget about creating payment gateways.

Each commission per sale will be reflected 15 days after the sale has been made. Make sure your bank details are up to date so that your money arrives to you without any inconvenience.

Advantages of selling on Amazon

Still have doubts about offering your products on the e-commerce giant? Well, let's take a look at some advantages that will help you make the right decision.

1. You don't need a store

We can't deny it, who wouldn't like to have their own digital store?

This is a fantastic idea, but it requires many edges that every entrepreneur must take into account if they want to get started in this career.

Otherwise, if you don't want to go through the process, you can take advantage of Amazon's platform to sell your products or third party products and forget about all kinds of problems.

Nothing better than leaving it in the hands of specialists, so you decide.

2. Multiple potential customers

We have seen on many occasions websites that attract a lot of traffic but do not get consistent sales over time.

The site also has a lot of traffic, but believe us that its conversion rates are higher than average.

We can say that selling on Amazon is the dream of any entrepreneur. Imagine having a platform with guaranteed traffic and an audience that has a strong intention to buy.
